FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: I want to attend GNU! What is the application deadline?
A: GNU has two annual admission intakes in both the fall and winter. The fall application deadline is August 1st,
and the winter application deadline is December 1st.
Q: How much does it cost to attend GNU?
A: After full time enrollment discounts, the tuition for one full year at GNU comes $3000.00. The part-time student rate is 350$ per class and 100$ per practicum.
Q: How much time outside of class is required for GNU students?
A: In addition to attendance at all Good News Chapel services and events, all GNU students participate in our weekly chapel services on Tuesday mornings from 9:15 AM to 10:30 AM. Soul winning teams are sent out on Thursday afternoons, and 1 Saturday a month for 3 hour sessions and all Roots placements take place on Tuesday evenings from 7:00-9:00 pm. Works hours can be scheduled at the students convenience, in partnership with the needs of their assigned departments, to complete their hourly requirements.
Q: Is GNU accredited? What will I receive when I graduate?
A: GNU is an independent school of the Bible and ministry and is not currently accredited. All full-time students will receive a certificate of accomplishment following the successful completion of the year one and year two curriculum, and a certificate of completetion at the end of year three.
Q: Is there a place I can study, work on homework or store food?
A: All GNU students receive access to the on site student lounge, Tuesday - Friday from 8:30 am- 4:00
pm. The Student lounge houses a library that can be accessed by students on campus, as well
as a quiet workspace for homework or reading, and various amenities. The GNC Cafe is also made available to students for purchases after class on school days.
Q: I want to get started at GNU but I am not ready to be a full-time student; how can I make this work?
A: Currently, GNU is admitting full-time and part-time students. You can start by enrolling in one
course. Since you have to be here Tuesday mornings for chapel anyway, we recommend you
begin with a Tuesday course. Whenever you are ready to become full -time, we will transfer your enrolment type for following term as easily as you can send an e-mail!
Q: My schedule is a bit complicated, could I take courses online or at night instead?
A: The GNU academic schedule follows a Tuesday morning - Thursday afternoon weekly schedule. As we feel ministerial training best takes place through our in person model, we do not offer online courses. If scheduling is a concern for you, but you are still interested in taking a course, auditing might be the right option for you. Feel free to use the question box below to ask us more about it!
