FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: I want to attend GNU! What is the application deadline?

A: GNU has two admission intakes annually, fall and winter. The fall application deadline is August 1st, and the winter application deadline is December 1st.

Q: How much does it cost to attend GNU?

A: After full-time enrollment discounts, the tuition for one full year at GNU is $3000.00.

Q: Can I enroll at GNU part-time?

A: Yes. The part-time student rate is 300$ per course, then 200$ per subsequent course and 100$ for any non-included practicums, with a non-refundable 190.00$ student fee for the first term of enrolment.

Q: How much time outside of class is required for GNU students?

A: A GNU student is expected to attend all Good News Chapel services and events. In addition, all GNU students participate in our weekly chapel services on Tuesday mornings from 9:15 AM to 10:30 AM. 'Souls lab' teams are sent out on Thursday afternoons, and one Saturday a month for three hour sessions. All 'Roots' assignments take place on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Finally, 'Works' practicum hours can be scheduled at the students convenience, in partnership with the needs of their assigned departments, to complete their hourly requirements.

Q: Is GNU accredited? What will I receive when I graduate?

A: GNU is an independent Bible school for the ministry and is not currently accredited. All full-time students will receive a certificate of accomplishment following the successful completion of the year-one and the year-two curriculum, and a certificate of completion at the end of the year-three curriculum.

Q: Is there a place I can study, work on homework or store food?

A: All GNU students receive access to the on site student lounge, Tuesday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. The Student lounge houses a library that can be accessed by students on campus, as well as a quiet workspace for homework or reading, and various amenities. The GNC Cafe is also made available to students for purchases after class on school days.

Q: I want to get started at GNU but I am not ready to be a full-time student; how can I make this work?

A: Currently, GNU is admitting full-time and part-time students. You can start by enrolling in one course. Since part-time students are required to attend Tuesday morning chapel service, we recommend you begin with a Tuesday course. Whenever you are ready to become full-time, we will transfer your enrolment type for the following term as easily as filling a simple form!

Q: My schedule is a bit complicated, could I take courses online or at night instead?

A: The GNU academic schedule follows a Tuesday morning to Thursday afternoon weekly schedule. As we feel ministerial training best takes place through our in-person model, we do not offer online courses. If scheduling is a concern for you, but you are still interested in taking a course, auditing might be the right option for you. Feel free to use the question box below to ask us more about it!
